One of the Top fixtures on Match day two of the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League group stage comes from Group F, the Group of Death, as Inter Milan travels to Camp Nou on Wednesday, October. 2 at 3 p.m. EDT to face off against Barcelona (TNT, TUDN, UniMás; streaming on FuboTV, B/R Live, Watch TNT, Univision NOW, TUDN en Vivo).
Following the first matches, all is level in Group F after all four clubs played to draws in their opening fixtures of the tournament. Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund played to a 0-0 tie at Westfalenstadion, while Inter finds itself behind the eight ball following a 1-1 draw with Slavia Prague, the weakest side in the group, at San Siro. However, a road win over Barcelona on Wednesday would put the Italians back in the catbird seat.
Barcelona has struggled a bit early this season and sits in fourth place in the La Liga after seven matches. The Blaugrana opened the season with a 1-0 loss to Athletic Bilbao and also suffered a 2-0 upset at the hands of Granada. Some of Barcelona’s issues stem from the absence of the talismanic Lionel Messi, who missed the first four games of the season with injury. He picked up another injury last Tuesday in a 2-1 win over Villareal that forced him off at halftime. However, he is reportedly recovering well and could be named in Ernesto Valverde’s squad on Wednesday.
Inter, meanwhile, is soaring in its first season under manager Antonio Conte. The Nerazzurri hold first place in the Serie A table early in the season with six wins in six matches.
They’ve only allowed two goals in the league this season while scoring 13. It’s still too early to know if they can challenge eight-time defending Serie A champion Juventus for league supremacy—although the two Italian giants will face off this weekend—but Conte certainly has his side playing like title contenders.
