President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence have since tested negative for the virus, the White House reported on Thursday.
WASHINGTON – One of President Donald Trump’s personal servants, who works in the west wing and serves meals to the president, among other things, has tested positive for the coronavirus closest to the president, a White House official said.
Since the White House medical department was made aware of the case, Trump and Vice President Mike Pence have both tested negative for the virus, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said Thursday. The White House did not say when the person developed symptoms or when the president was last exposed to the individual.
After Trump found out that one of his valets was infected, he went “lava-mad” on his employees and said he didn’t feel like they were doing anything to protect him from the virus, a nearby person said of the White House.
However, efforts are hampered by the fact that the unwittingly infected valet was consistently close to the president throughout the day.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends people who have recently had close contact with a person with COVID-19 stay at home for 14 days since the last exposure, check their temperature twice a day, and stay away from people with whom there is a high risk of becoming seriously ill. The White House has not indicated whether Trump will follow these guidelines.
Employees who come in close contact with the president said they are regularly tested for the corona virus, but very few helpers were seen wearing masks in the west wing, even when Trump recently traveled to Phoenix, where he said he only had one Mask for a short time. Anyone entering the White House compound has their temperature checked.
There is generally a certain delay between when a person becomes infected and a positive test result, said Kelly Wroblewski, director of infectious diseases at the Association of Public Health Laboratories.
In March, a Pence employee who worked in the adjacent Eisenhower Executive Office Building was tested positive for the virus. However, officials said that neither the president nor the vice president came into contact with the adjutant. The President himself had brief contact with several Brazilian officials on his property in Mar-a-Lago in March, who were later tested positive.
The valet is a member of the Navy, said a person familiar with the situation. The Navy regularly announces personnel to work in various positions in the White House to meet the President’s daily needs, including: B. serving meals, roasting drinks during the day, and making sure his clothes are ironed and shoes shiny.
