10 top players NBA 2020 [+ LeBron James]

Blogtify.com brings you 10 top players NBA 2020: While some stars may have became older, others are either peaking or still very young, but have shown enough skills and celebrity status to be considered future stars.

Although there might not be a perfect record for a particular team-whether due to injury or anything else – there are still some worthwhile players in the NBA to watch-out for.

Here are the 10 top players NBA 2020

10. Damian Lillard, Portland Trailblazers

10. Damian Lillard, Portland Trailblazers

The 29-year-old Lillard is Without a doubt one of the greatest clutch-shot makers of recent history and knows exactly what time it is when it comes to the game of basketball. The three-time All-Star has led the way in almost every facet of the game since his design in 2012, and it doesn’t seem likely that this will change anytime soon. Despite his well-known defensive fights, Lillard has had a permanent and good presence in the dressing room.

9. Russell Westbrook, Houston Rockets

Russell Westbrook

The 31-year-old Westbrook is a constant triple-double threat and has to lead a team into the playoffs properly, especially because of his playing style. Yet the intensity and ferocity with which he plays the game is unsurpassed.

If the defenders already respect his sportsmanship and Westbrook can develop a 3-point shot and learn to play a more consistent basketball style, he can return to the top five.

8. Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks

Luka Doncic

At only 20 years old, Doncic is doing things for the Mavericks that haven’t been done since LeBron James. The 30-10-10 average in just his second year is the limit for Doncic and the Mavericks. Although his three-point shot needs to be improved, defenders still respect his shot because he has shown he can hit three hands from any distance, especially when the game is on the line.

7. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry’s status as a top 5 player in the league is doubtful after missing most of the season with a broken hand. Nevertheless, there is no denying the 32-year-old’s ability on the pitch. Defenders respect him for his limitless range and when he drives, he can find the open man.

If he can regain some of his durability in the future, there is no doubt that Curry is a top 5 player. But right now he has to settle for seventh, just like where he was drafted.

6. James Harden, Houston missiles

James Harden, Houston missiles

As perhaps one of the best offensive players in the history of the NBA, Harden has shown that he can lead a team as the No. 1 on offense. At 30, Harden seems to be able to find new and creative ways to get the ball in the basket every year, no matter how questionable it may look.

Even with dull defensive performance, his ability to score a 60-point triple-double makes him one of the most dangerous offensive players in the NBA.

5. Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers

Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers

The 26-year-old Davis has been present in both directions since his first election in 2012. His numbers have improved every year, and if he maintains this pace, he will be worthy of the Hall of Fame. Davis’ penchant for continual improvement each year is unsurpassed and playing in Los Angeles can only do wonders for his game and marketability.

However, Davis’ lack of success and experience in the playoffs combined with his well-documented injury history is a cause for concern. Davis plays with LeBron James and takes better care of his body. He can allay these concerns. If all goes well, he can be considered one of the greatest great men ever played.

4. Kevin Durant, Brooklyn Nets

Kevin Durant - 10 top players NBA 2020

At 6-foot-11, 31-year-old Durant is unlike any other player the NBA has ever seen. He can support you in the post and drill deep daggers from the depths – and set up 30-10-5 every night without any problems. He is also an excellent defensive player with his size and span, averaging more than one block per game.

With this in mind, Durant has had out-of-court mishaps in the past – as well as in the locker room – and it remains to be seen how he will recover from the Achilles injury he suffered during the 2019 NBA finals. However, if Durant can play 90% of his skills, he is still a top 5 player in the NBA.

3. Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers

Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers

The 28-year-old Leonard, the elite defensive player of the NBA, lets his game speak for itself. The two-time MVP for the NBA finals has improved in every respect, with career highs on average in points (26.9), rebounds (7.3) and assists (5.0).

The fact that Leonard doesn’t seem to care about regular season statistics or awards and prefers to focus on post-season success only shows what type of player he is.

Leonard embodies the adage that “it should be the quiet guys you should be afraid of” because he won’t say a word. Overall, he may be the best player of the regular season, but the success of the playoffs is a bigger goal for him.

2. LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers

Look no further than the fact that he averages a career high of 10.6 assists in his 17th season. His career numbers (27-7-7) are unknown these days. The fact that Lebron James appears to be doing it almost effortlessly makes it appear as if he can play for more than five more  years. Although his defense has taken a step back with age, James is still an excellent defensive player when challenged.

There will never be another player like James, with the raw athleticism and all-round play he brings to the table every night. His work over the course of his career is the reason why James is considered one of the two best players in NBA history and, quite frankly, can still be considered the best player in the NBA.

1.  Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Goats

Giannis Antetokounmpo - 10 top players NBA 2020

One could argue that James is still the best player in the NBA, but Antetokounmpo has proven this on both sides of the ball. The 25-year-old reigning MVP is in the top 5 in almost every category, including PER (first), overall jump (fifth), defensive wins (first), wins (second), goals (third), rebounds (third) and so on.

While Antetokounmpo needs to improve in his shooting skills and his three-pointers, – there are signs that he is working on this facet of his game. If Giannis is able to achieve an above average clip at his age, he can be the face of the league for at least the next five years. If everything works out for Antetokounmpo, he could be one of the greatest players of all time.
