LONDON (AP) — Nike has instructed The Associated Press that it is “deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations” going through football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The emailed commentary Thursday from the media division for the U.S. sports clothing company follows the submitting of a lawsuit in Las Vegas by a woman who alleges that she used to be raped by Ronaldo in 2009.
Ronaldo has denied the claims.
In the e-mail, Nike says “we are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation.”
Nike has had a freelance with Ronaldo, probably the most wealthiest and most famed football players on the earth, since 2003.
