Who is Jadon Sancho?
Jadon Malik Sancho (born March 25, 2000) is an English football player who plays for the Bundesliga Borussia Dortmund and the England national team.
Formerly a young Watford and Manchester City player, Sancho signed his first senior contract with Dortmund in 2017.
In his second season, Jadon Sancho established himself as the team’s starter and was named on the 2018-19 Bundesliga team. Before the 2019-2020 season, Sancho won his first trophy after the DFL-Supercup’s victory over Bayern Munich.
Sancho was part of the England youth team that won the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup and made his senior debut in 2018.

Jadon Sancho joined Watford at the age of seven. Due to problems with commuting from London to the club’s academy, he moved to the accommodation provided by Watford and started attending the partner school Harefield Academy as an 11-year old pensioner. At the age of 14, he told the Watford coach under the age of 15 about his intention to play for England.

At the age of 14, Jadon Sancho moved to Manchester City in March 2015 for an initial fee of £66,000 under the EPPP, potentially increasing to £500,000 with add-ons. In September 2017, Jadon Sancho was named to the England squad for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, but the player’s new German club resisted the call. The two parties reached an agreement that he would be available for the group stages of the competition, but his participation would not be guaranteed if England progressed in the qualifiers. On October 8, 2017, he scored twice in England’s first Under-17 game against Chile. On October 16, during England’s round of 16 game against Japan, Jadon Sancho was removed from the competition by Borussia Dortmund.
After an impressive start to the 2018-19 season, Sancho was called up to the England national team for the first time on 4 October 2018, in preparation for the UEFA Nations League games against Croatia and Spain. He debuted as a substitute in the 78th minute against Croatia on 12 October, in a 0-0 away draw.
On March 22, 2019, Jadon Sancho started his first competitive match for England in the 5-0 victory over the Czech Republic at Wembley Stadium, in a qualifying match for UEFA Euro 2020. During the September internationals, Jadon Sancho scored his debut goals for the senior team, a key, in the 5-3 home win over Kosovo in a Euro 2020 tie on 10 September.
