The Nigeria Chief of Staff to President Mohammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari reportedly test positive to coronavirus
His aides did not deny the report.
blogtify.com has been informed that Mr. Kyari’s close friends, including former federal government secretary Babagana Kingibe, will be tested on Kyari’s case.
Today’s Newspaper reported on Tuesday morning the alleged results of tests conducted by the Nigerian Centers for Disease Control (NCDC) against Mr. Buhari and Mr. Kyari, the former being reportedly negative and the latter being positive.
Mr. Kyari has served on the editorial board of THISDAY newspapers for many years.
Sources in the state legislature also acknowledged that despite Mr. Abba Kyari’s test results being positive, he was not in trouble.
“Yes, he tested positive. He is at home but inspiring,” a source in the presidential palace said.
The source added that Mr. Abba Kyari’s close colleague was tested on Tuesday by Mr. Kingibe, and many described it as a political adviser to the chief of staff.
The source added: “Many are currently self-isolated, but those who will be tested by the NCDC this morning will be led by a former SGF who is closer to him.”
Officials at the Presidential Villa confirmed to the High Times that Mr. Carey was out of the office on Monday and had not been on Tuesday as of the time of this report.
Official confirmation of Mr. Kyari’s situation was not obtained Monday and Tuesday.
Mr. Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, did not deny the report but declined to comment on the matter. He forwarded all enquiries to Minister of Health Osagie Ehanire.
Enefaa Bob-Manuel, a spokesman for Ehanire, said she had briefed the minister.
“I don’t have any information yet. My Miniter did not provide any relevant information,” she said in response to our inquiry.

In addition, the NCDC, which has been leading the government’s action against the disease, stated that Mr. Kyari’s case could not be confirmed because its policy does not designate COVID-19 victims.
An NCDC spokesperson wrote in a text message in response to a PREMIUM TIMES inquiry: “NCDC will not provide personal information under any circumstances and will not provide information on a case-by-case basis.”
However, late last night, the NCDC confirmed new coronavirus cases in Abuja, bringing the total number of cases detected in the Nigerian capital to seven.
As of the writing of this report, Nigeria has confirmed 40 cases of the disease, most of them (28) in Lagos.
Dangote, Masari, IGP may also be tested
Mr. Abba Kyari travelled to Germany on March 7 and returned about a week later.
He is suspected to have contracted the disease in Germany, which has thousands of cases, and has banned public gatherings, limiting him to a maximum of two.
Since his return to Nigeria, well-known Nigerians who have been in contact with the Chief of Staff include business tycoon Aliko Dangote; governors of Katsina and Kogi states Bello Masari and Yahaya Bello; police inspector General Mohammed Adamu and others.
The chief of staff working in Europe with European Minister Saleh Mamman returned to the country on March 14.
The two traveled to Germany to meet with Siemens officials to seek an agreement recently signed by the Nigerian federal government and energy companies to improve the country’s power supply.
Since his return, Mr. Cagliari has not been isolated, but has been in other official positions until he is tested.
